Slow Furniture, Sustainably delivered

As a manufacturing business it's important to recognise the impact we have on the environment is more-so than most. From the raw materials we use, to the power running our workshop, the packaging we use, and the impact of shipping the finished pieces.. it mounts up. We're committed to mitigating our impact where we can.

Sustainable timber

All of the wood we use is from reputable suppliers with traceable sourcing. We only use sustainable timber.

We also mitigate the impact we have by planting 3 trees with every order placed. We've decided to split these over 2 projects, one planting tree's in South America, and one in Africa. To find out more about these initiatives visit the Greenspark website.

Packaging

Even with carbon-neutral shipping, every package sent still creates some waste and pollution. That’s why we try to cut down by reusing old packaging materials whenever we can.

We also make sure our shipping supplies are as eco-friendly as possible. Our cardboard boxes, for example, come from a local manufacturer—we give them a second life and keep things local to save on CO₂.

We use plastic-free tape to seal our boxes, and our document sleeves are plastic-free too. We're working hard to cut out plastic from all our packaging completely, as soon as we can.

Built to last

IKEA sells a Billy bookcase every five seconds — and it’s safe to say many of those made since 1979 have long since stopped storing books.

The best way to mitigate the environmental impact of furniture is to create pieces built to last — both in quality and in style. Our aim is that the furniture you choose from us will serve you for years, move with you from home to home, and maybe even be passed on or resold — not end up in landfill alongside Billy and his mates.
