1. Welcome

Thank you for choosing Midtone. We design and make bespoke furniture for considered, design-led living spaces. These Terms of Service outline the agreement between you and Midtone when you use our website or place an order with us.

By browsing our site or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If anything isn’t clear, we’re always happy to talk it through.

2. Ordering from Us

Every piece we make is crafted to order. When you place an order, we’ll send you a confirmation email to acknowledge receipt. This is not a contract — it becomes binding once we confirm the details and begin production.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, for example, if materials are unavailable or there’s an error in pricing.

3. Custom & Bespoke Orders

Our furniture is often made to measure or fully customised. In most cases, small adjustments — such as a change in width — can be made without additional charge. We’ll simply charge the closest size tier above.

For more involved changes requiring technical drawings (e.g. custom shelf spacing), we charge a flat £50 fee to cover design time. We don’t charge extra for the customisation itself — just the time to prepare your design for approval. 

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices displayed on our website are listed in GBP (£) and include UK VAT where applicable. For orders shipped outside the UK, VAT may not apply and additional customs duties may be charged by your local authorities

We accept secure payments via Stripe, PayPal, or other third-party providers. Your payment details are never stored on our servers.

Full payment is required at checkout to confirm your order and begin production.

5. Shipping & Delivery

We ship across the UK and offer local delivery where possible. Delivery costs are shown at checkout or quoted separately for larger items. 

There are additional costs for shipping to the Highlands, Channel islands and N.Ireland. Please get in touch for a quote. 

Please note that lead times vary depending on the item and level of customisation. We’ll always aim to give you an accurate dispatch estimate before confirming your order.

6. Returns & Cancellations

Because many of our items are made to order, cancellations must be made within 24 hours of placing your order.

We cannot accept returns for bespoke or customised furniture unless the item is faulty. For standard (non-custom) items, you have 14 days to request a return in line with UK consumer regulations. Items must be returned unused and in original condition.

7. Product Variations

Due to the nature of solid wood and handcrafted processes, slight variations in tone, grain, or finish may occur. We believe these are part of the charm and character of truly bespoke furniture — not defects. We strongly advise finish samples are ordered to get a true representation of the finishes offered.

8. Intellectual Property

All images, text, designs, and content on our website are the property of Midtone and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission.

9. Website Use

You agree not to use our site:

For unlawful purposes

To transmit harmful software or interfere with the website’s function

To misrepresent your identity or make fraudulent orders

10. Limitation of Liability

We take great care to ensure everything we produce and deliver meets our standards. However, Midtone is not liable for:

Indirect or consequential losses

Delays caused by circumstances beyond our control (e.g. courier issues or supplier delays)

Our liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the value of that order.
